Kenya’s Kevin Owiti emerges Finalist at 2016 Mr World Contest, India’s Rohit Wins


Kenya’s representative to the 2016 Mr. World Finals which were held in the UK, Kevin Owiti, made it to the top 5 finalists last night in Southport, as India’s Rohit Khandelwal was crowned as the most desirable man in the World!

Kevin, a 21-year-old student at the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, lost out a slot in the final three to the eventual winner, Rohit, following a night that featured quite a few energetic segments and quizzes.

Rohit, a 26 year old Actor from Hyderabad in India, beat the odds, from over 1,000 applicants from across the World, to 46 finalists on the night, to receive the coveted title.

“I feel so privileged and humbled to be Mr World 2016,” said Rohit, in a release posted on the Mr. World website, “I would like to thank all my fans and all the people who have been giving me all their blessings. It  is only your love and support that has been my inspiration to win Mr World 2016. It has been an amazing journey to this point, and I cannot wait to see what happens next.”

The other top 3 contestants were Fernando Álvarez, 21, from Puerto Rico, with Aldo Esparza Ramírez, 26, from Mexico placing 3rd.

The live event was hosted by Miss World 2013, Filipino Superstar Megan Young alongside professional singer & former Mr. England Jordan Williams and Mr. Canada 2012 Frankie Cena. The show will subsequently be broadcast in select countries in the coming weeks.
