French Star VDJ VocalTeknix and Kenya’s DJ Joe Mfalme to Battle it Out in Dec 2016

TRACE  East Africa has announced its very first disc jockey battle, which is set for December 3rd and 4th in Nairobi and will feature French VDJ VocalTeknix, alongside Kenya’s leading disc jockey, DJ Joe Mfalme.
Dubbed TRACE Mziki Video Mix Battle DJ, organisers are planning for it to be a quarterly TRACE MZIKI event. This inaugural DJ Battle pits a veteran TRACE Video Mix act, VDJ VocalTeknix against the channel’s newcomer, the eclectic TRACE MZIKI VDJ Mix Master DJ Joe Mfalme.
VocalTeknix is no stranger to the airwaves, himself a radio host, VJ, voice over artist and beatmaker from the East of France, he’s been a video programmer with French music channel TRACE Urban since September 2008, as well as the host of the show Trace Video Mix.
Strongly influenced by Hip-Hop and Dancehall, VocalTeknix, constantly tries to bring new sounds to his work, fusing the French audiences’ interests which he’s used to and his Cape Verdeans origins.
‘My goal is for my audience to have fun – according to me, to have fun, you have to go through mixing up the genres. Don’t stick to only one particular style,’ VocalTeknix says.
2016 has been a great year for popular disc jockey Joe Mfalme, as he has received an overwhelming number of nominations including Stylus DJs, SOMA Awards 2016, AFRIMMA Awards 2016, Jumia Kenya Glamour Awards 2016, Nigerian Entertainment Awards 2016 and even a win with Bingwa Music where he was crowned East African DJ of the year.
‘The Best of Both Worlds’ Trace Mziki Battle DJ Video Mix Show takes place Saturday 3rd Dec 2016 at B-Club Nairobi and Sunday 4th Dec 2016 at Cloud Hotel Rooftop Pool
