‘This can only be called a miracle!’ were the words of prolific businessman and investor Chris Kirubi describing Two Rivers Mall during a media tour of the facility.

Two Rivers Mall, arguably the largest multi-purpose commercial facility in East and Central Africa, is set to open its doors to the public on 14th February 2017, with the official launch on 17th February.

The much talked about flagship project by Centum Investment Group sits on over 100 acres of land, with a current let-able retail space of 67,000sq m2 making it the current largest retail, entertainment and lifestyle center in the region.

‘This whole area was occupied by tea bushes and napier grass – now look at this, isn’t this a miracle? We can only compare this to Dubai,’ said Mr. Kirubi.

Centum CEO James Mworia reiterated this by saying, ‘’Two Rivers Mall started with a question, what’s not possible? If there’s anyone who still doubts Africa as a place where all things are possible, and whether Kenya will ever be at the forefront of making the impossible possible by questioning the power of the dream, who still question our sheer will and grit? Then Two Rivers is the answer!’’

Two Rivers will have 200 stores and shops, providing a diverse offering of products and services including over 18 food and beverage outlets, 9 banks, 38 fashion and apparel stores, and 13 health and beauty stores.  Among these are brands exclusive to Two Rivers and Kenya, such as: Magic Planet (leisure/lifestyle), LC Wakiki (fashion/apparel), Villeroy & Bosch (home zone) Swarovski (jewelry/accessories), Anmol Jewelers and Azadea TA Cool Trends (fashion/apparel).

Deacons, Chandarana  and Carrefour are some of the other anchor tenants who expressed their excitement and anticipation of opening on site in February and offering Kenyans the best they have to offer.

From the entrance of Two Rivers Mall, one can tell that security will be state-of-the-art. Professional (and surprisingly polite) guards are at hand to welcome you and scan your car with equipment that will not require you to exit or open up your vehicle. Sniffer dogs, undercover guards and even a number of police are always on patrol in the mall at all times.

‘’We have taken nothing for granted here at Two Rivers, what we have here can only be compared to the kind of security at the US Embassy – we have Integrated and employed IBM’s intelligent Operation center, that ensures unification of hundreds of independent systems like surveillance, access systems, threat detection and communication. This is serious military grade security, but we’ve kept it welcoming, all for the safety of our customers.’’  James Nicholl, Two Rivers Director of Security. ‘’You can be assured of a non-intrusive security system to make your experience here more memorable.’’

Children will also be spoiled for choice, with Magic Planet offering an assortment of games and a spacious play area, not forgetting the first water theme park in Kenya, comprising activities that include a flume ride, bumper boats, water zorbing and a water park adjacent to the mall. Another first in Kenya will be the dancing fountains, which is a must see.

‘’This is just one step in the journey’’ said James Mworia. ‘’Further developments include luxury apartments, a five star hotel and residences, all by the Centum Group. Third party developers have bought land here and began construction; these include South Africa’s City Lodge hotel group and Victoria Bank. As Centum Group, we have set the pace and are moving our headquarters to Two Rivers because we believe and stand by it. ‘’

Two Rivers Mall is definitely the perfect example of Africa rising, a masterpiece that has come to reality through immense challenges. It’s a dawn of the age of possibilities.
