OYGK Music Video Debut: HART the Band Feat Lady JayDee – Rosella

Hart the Band team up with Tanzanian  songstress, Lady Jay Dee to produce this heart wrenching yet beautiful expression of love and it’s shortcomings, titled Rosella.

In the video’s description on YouTube, it boldly states that “LOVE is giving someone the POWER to destroy you but trusting them enough NOT to”.

Rosella has such a powerful portrayal of what is perceived to be the weakness associated with loving someone. It delves into the quagmire of needing someone and also exposing vulnerability that can be exploited at any time.

HART the Band officially released the club version of the song on their YouTube channel. The “Yahaya” hitmaker, Lady JayDee, had earlier released the accoustic version on her channel.

The imagery and art direction in the video is on point and as evidenced in their previous videos, the guys are as expressive lyrically as they are in video. Lady Jay Dee looks radiant in the video, using her femininity to break the male domination in the song.

The ‘Rosella’ audio is produced by Martin Gwandho, co-produced by Gituamba and the music video was directed by Kevin Bosco Jnr who are all from Kenya.

Credits of the song instrumentals are Bensoul as the bassist, Gituamba on the keyboard and Alex the Drum Doctor.

In what can only be described as a seemless combination of two distinct sounds brewed to perfection, this musical ingenuity is simply a masterpiece. The result is a delightful fusion of Lady Jay Dee’s vocal prowess and HART the Band’s lyrical assassination over the mellow instrumentals.
