In a first for the region, Nairobi‘s Jomo Kenyatta International Airport now boasts the country’s first airport luxury hotel, the Lazizi Premiere, which opened its doors to the public last week.

President Uhuru Kenyatta on 23rd May 2017 officially opened the 144-room premium hotel conveniently located barely three minutes from the nearest terminal at the regional air hub, JKIA. Managed by Sarovar India, the same brand that operates The Heron Portico and Zehneria Portico Hotels, Lazizi Premiere prides itself in the very best that luxury has to offer.

Speaking at the launch, Lazizi Premiere Chairman Kiran M. Patel said, “The entry of Lazizi Premiere Hotel into the Kenyan market seeks to complement the ever-increasing demand for hotel rooms in Nairobi especially during peak tourist seasons, local and international conferences”.

The Lazizi Premiere’s strategic location hopes to tap into the millions of annual international arrivals at JKIA, joining the ranks of Singapore, Dubai and London which feature airport hotels that make layovers at their leading airports a pleasant stay with luxury accomodation. The government’s involvement in itself shows just how groundbreaking this development is to the local hospitality industry that is an economic backbone for Kenya.

Key attractions at Lazizi Premiere include an all-day restaurant with multi-cuisine buffets to accomodate over 100 people, a 24-hour coffee shop, a modern bespoke bar, a Pool Deck and a contemporary lounge that exclusively caters for executives and airline crew.

It’s a tremendous development for Sarovar Hotels, as the Hotel is now uniquely positioned to scoop a significant segment of travellers in transit, airline crews and other local and international visitors intending to avoid traffic enroute to the airport. As if that wasn’t enough, guests at The Lazizi Premiere Hotel enjoy complementary airport transfers, a world-class swimming pool and a fitness centre.
