Nyashinski, Avril, Naiboi & Everlast Shortlisted for East African Music Video Awards at ZIFF 2017


Avril, Naiboi, Everlast and Nyashinski have each been selected as finalists in the race for the East African Music Video Award at the 2017 edition of the Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF).

The four Kenyan artistes are joined on the regional roster by Darassa, Eddy Kenzo, Sheebah Karungi, Rayvanny, Jux and A Pass respresenting the other East African countries.

From Kenya, Avril’s recent release ‘Uko’ is in contention for the East African Music Video Award, alongside Naiboi’s ‘Problem’, Nyashinski’s ‘Now You Know’ and Everlast’s ‘Gudi Gudi’. Videos are shortlisted based on the quality of their production, art direction and general uniqueness.

TRACE Mziki has partnered with ZIFF for this segment of the festival which brings together film industry experts from across the continent, and the globe. This year, showcases and panelists also include Showmax, the Kenya Film and Classification Board, Citizen TV, Riverwood Ensemble and the Udada Film Festival.

The Zanzibar International Film Festival is in its 20th year and will be held in at the Coastal Tanzanian island from July 12th to 14th 2017.
