‘Two can play THIS GAME’ budding songstress AceyGracey opens with sass and panache on the new killer track and music video ‘This Game’ which simply talks about the tit for tat in a relationship.
Produced by Charmant Miguel of Urban Scorch Records (with the video directed by Nezzoh Monts), ‘This Game’ has a plethora of carefully composed and intertwined instumental and vocal moments. The gentle thumps of the baseline and the mellow tone of AceyGracey characterize a timeless yet still convincingly new product that deserves its rightful position as one of the best songs out of Kenya we’ve heard this year.
The purple, red and blue hues of the music video are a reflection of the moments we’re taken through on the track – an array of heated moments, calm, cool and convicting instances as well as cocky spaces of asserting the fact that she’s in control of the relationship, having tied her partner to a chair at the center of a torture chamber, and she’s invited her friends to come on in and help her teach him a lesson.
It’s genius that such tense moments are inter-played with cartoons on screen, but hey, let’s all remember it’s a game and we need to know how to play it. The fashion forward wardrobe of AceyGracey, as well as the moderate apocalyptic setting of the video also deserve a special mention – mastering the craft of ‘less is more’.
This Game is a follow up to AceyGracey’s previous single ‘Nimekutoka’. Watch the video above and share your comments on this artist to watch!
