The best just keeps getting better! Fena Gitu the phenomenal has shown us that she’s up to no good at all with her latest banger ‘Trouble‘, and I must say it ranks in the top 5 best songs I’ve heard in 2018, and we’re only 31 days into the year.
Produced iLogos Music, and predominantly shot at the Garden City Mall along Nairobi’s Thika Highway and the Sam Mburu Retreat Center, ‘Trouble’ is a blend of Fena’s witty lyrics as well as a cacophony of bass lines, chimes and instrumentals that go through quite a few multi-personality orders.
TV host Martin Kimathi and Esther Wangoi are the power couple of this track, welcoming the audience to join them on an ideal date which sees Esther think miles ahead into the future, having spotted the bad boy Martin at Moca Loca. We get to explore the course of their relationship, from date night at the Mall, to a picnic at Sam Mburu’s Retreat Center. Thankfully, the romantics are spared details of the nasty that wold eventually lead to a break up, because after all, Fena does sing about wishing she’d known ‘you were TROUBLE’?
The single is danceable, and listen-able, uncharacteristic of may songs these days. It’s perfect to turn up the volume to, as well as crank up the bass, but also pleasant to watch on mute, thanks to stunning camera work, set designs and direction, which tell a beautiful story.
